National Black Cat Day was created to celebrate black cats and highlight their lower adoption rates. Cat lovers are encouraged to share photos, spread the word, volunteer, and help spread the need for shelter adoptions.
So, if you have a black cat at home, October is the perfect excuse to give them some extra attention. Take the photo. Buy the treats. Let them take over the couch. Honestly, they were probably going to do that anyway.
